Chapter members competed at several contests that challenged their various agriculture skills, such as:
Livestock Judging
Horse Judging
Marketing Plan
Food Science
Meats

County Fair

Chapter members competed at the Adair, Adams, and Madison county fairs.  

Some highlights:

  • High Point Team - Livestock Judging
  • High Individual - Livestock Judging
  • Grand Champion Market Lamb
  • Champion Supreme Breeding Heifer
  • Reserve Champion Market Barrow
             State Fair 
Nine O-M FFA members exhibited both livestock and photography projects at the Iowa State Fair.
Some highlights:
  • One member competed in the Cowgirl Queen Contest and made the final cut
  • Chapter members recieved various purple and blue ribbons during the competition
Greenhand Fireup
Freshmen attended a leadership conference where new "greenhands" were introduced to FFA.
The goal of the convention is to get underclassmen excited about becoming involved in the organization

Legislative Symposium

Annually, O-M FFA officers travel to the Capitol to meet with State Representatives and Senators about the importance of FFA and agriculturall education in schools.

     State Convention
15 O-M FFA members had the opprotunity to attend the State Convention. 
Members attended workshops, browsed through a career fair, listened to speeches, swam in the hotel pool, and had a great time meeting other FFA'ers.  Some highlights:
  • Ag issues and perceptions team recieved a bronze
  • 4 members recieved their Iowa degrees
  • Chapter website recieved a 5th gold rating
        National Convention
6 Chapter members attended the 85th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN along with 50,000 other members from all fifty states plus Puerto Rico.  A few things that we accomplished along the way were tours at:
  • Keystone Wire
  • Indy 500
  • Fair Oaks Dairy
  • Go Ape Outdoor Adventure
  • NCAA Museum
FFA members also participated in various agriculturual workshops, visited a massive career show, and met lots of new friends.
